Why e-Bike?

e-Bikes are taking the world by storm, as people become more aware of their wellness needs, urban congestion and the impact of global warming on the environment. When out cycling, why get left behind or struggle up steep climbs? Who can e-Bike?

e-Biking is for anyone fit enough to take a moderate walk. Shared e-Bike tours with friends, couples and families who love exploring and experiencing new places are the most enjoyable.

Age Requirements? 

Teens >14 years with cycling experience may come on one of our e-bike tours. Toddlers and 'littlies' may ride with an adult secured either in a child seat (9 to 22Kg) or in a child trailer (seats two, max 34 Kg).

What about comfort and safety?   

The Navigator 7.8 e-Bike is engineered to the highest EU specifications. We promote guided tours to ensure the highest safety standards. e-Bike frames sizes for rental are medium in size and can be adjusted for ideal comfort. Rider heights 158 cm - 185 cm and a max weight of 150 Kg are accommodated.

 

Our company Safety First Policy requires all riders to wear a helmet while obeying the rules of the road and riding in single file.  Before departing on a guided tour your guide will brief all riders on safety matters and ask the rider to complete an indemnity agreement before departure.

Should you have any health concerns, consult your doctor before booking an e-Bike tour.

What should I wear on the day?

We suggest you wear comfortable shoes and clothes.  The Cape is known as the Cape of Storms and our weather is changeable, so we recommend packing a light windbreaker or rain jacket.
 

Where does our tour begin?

Each tour starts at a different meeting point, refer to the individual tour information section for more details.  Please note, Hout Bay Tours always begin at The Vine Cafe, unless otherwise stated. 

 

Can my e-Bike be delivered to my hotel?

Yes! An e-Bike Pick-up / Drop-off service is available at R175 one-way within 10km of Cape Town CBD. R12,53 per KM is extra is payable outside of the aforementioned radius. Delivery within Hout Bay is free of charge.

Are refreshments and meals included in the quoted price?

Drinks, snacks and meals are not included in the quoted price. However, we would be glad to arrange a snack pack or pre-booked picnic basket at an additional cost at your request.
